Hoya australis subsp. tenuipes 'Lisa' |

|
Hoya australis subsp. tenuipes 'Lisa' originates from cultivation. I'm not sure whether this one has been registered/published or not. If not the name isn't valid. Normally you see this hoya namned Hoya australis 'Lisa', but since there are subspecies of Hoya australis all of them shall be namned with a subspecies. I suspect this is a cultivar form of Hoya australis subsp. tenuipes. If anyone knows better please let me know! Anyway, this is a lovely hoya! I just love the glabrous variegated leaves. New growth is bright red, but it turns green as the leaves |

matures. This hoya thrives and flowers in a shaded position. I have my plant in a window facing west with some protection from the burning sun. It tolerates drought even though it prefers not to dry completely between waterings. The white flowers are quite big, up to 2.4 cm. The centre of the corolla is dark pink. I actually don't see any major differences between this one and Hoya australis subsp. tenuipes regarding the flowers. Below is a picture of the pollinarium which measures 1.05 mm. |
