The variegation of the leaves of Hoya lanceolata subsp. bella 'Luis Bois' is very nice. The edges are dark green and the centre of the leaves are ligth green or yellow. The area at the centre vein becomes more red, the more light the plant gets. Hoya lanceolata subsp. bella 'Luis Bois' grows a bit slower than the green Hoya lanceolata subsp. bella and flowers more seldom. Otherwise I have not noticed any differences. Hoya lanceolata subsp. bella needs much light, but no direct sun. Don't |

let it dry completely between waterings. In winter it requires less water. I grow my plant in a shaded place in my cooler garden room and it seems to thrive there. I have seen different names on this one and I'm not sure whether 'Luis Bois' is a valid cultivar name, but I'm keeping the name it had when I got it until I learn more about it. It is also questioned whether Hoya bella should be a subspecies to Hoya lanceolata or not. The last valid publication (by D. Kent, Asklepios 23: 27, 1981) says it is a subspecies to Hoya lanceolata. |
