Hoya lanceolata subsp. bella 'Paxtonii' (large) |

Origin: cultivar |

I have two different plants named Hoya lanceolata subsp. bella 'Paxtonii'. This one is the larger form of them. It has larger leaves and flowers. The colour of the corona is also much darker. I don't know which of them is the true 'Paxtonii'. If anyone knows please contact me. The leaves of this hoya are much longer than on Hoya
lanceolata subsp. bella but the flowers have no obvious differences from Hoya
lanceolata subsp. bella, at least not for the untrained eye. Like Hoya
lanceolata
subsp. bella
this one has no ability to climb so it is best grown in a hanging
basket. |

It is questioned whether Hoya bella should be a subspecies to Hoya lanceolata or not. The last valid publication (by D. Kent, Asklepios 23: 27, 1981) says it is a subspecies to Hoya lanceolata. |
