Hoya carnosa was the first hoya I owned. I took a cutting from a plant at a nursing home where I used to work on my summer holidays some 15 years ago. I have cut the plant down several times and given many cuttings to friends and relatives throughout the years. Today I try to keep this plant small but it's not easy; it grows fast!

It flowers almost any time of the year and can be grown in any point of the compass. If grown in a northern window the foliage is most beatiful; dark

green and shiny. Unfortunatley it does not flower as much as if grown in any other window.

The scent of the flowers is very strong and fills the room in the evening. The flowers are light pink and covered with short hair. They produce a lot of nectar which makes a mess to clean up when the flowers drop. The flowers last at least one week, often two.
