Hoya dimorpha

F. M. Bailey

Published in The Queensland Agricultural Journal 3 156 (1898) by F. M. Bailey. Hoya dimorpha originates from Papua New Guinea. The name means "two shaped".

I got my Hoya dimorpha as a cutting in 2004. It has grown to a nice looking plant even though the leaves are quite plain. The leaves and the stems are hard. Hoya dimorpha has some climbing abilities but you need to form your plant before the stems get to old. Otherwise you might break it when trying to bend older stems. I have always grown my plant in a window

facing south without no shading. It tolerates direct sun and can dry out between waterings. Overall it is an easy Hoya to grow.

The flowers are lovely. Both the corolla and corona are yellow. If the buds are exposed to sunlight they get a nice pinkish tint. I have not felt any scent from the flowers.
