Published in The Flora of British India 4 58-59 (1883) by J. D. Hooker. Hoya elliptica originates from Malacca. It was collected by A. C. Maingay. The name of this species refers to the elliptic shape of the leaves. I have had my plant of Hoya elliptica since spring 2007 and it has not grown larger since then. I find this one really tricky to grow and I have had to start it over several times by re-rooting it. The foliage is beautiful with its elliptic leaves and light green veins so I am not |

trying with new buds again and I am hoping I will see some more flowers
in the cluster the next time. The flowers are really beatuiful, crystal
white with some red in the centre of the corona. The scent is weak.
