Hoya sp. cf. chunii (IML1134)

This species seems to be a really good bloomer. I bought my Hoya sp. cf. chunii (IML1134) as a cutting in September 2008 and now in April 2009 it is in bloom for the first time. It has two more peduncles growing so it will be in bloom soon again.

I need to look at the original publication of Hoya reticulata before I can have an opinion wheter this one is Hoya chunii or not. (Hoya reticulata Schelechter was renamed to Hoya chunii by Li Ping-t'ao in Bulletin of

Botanical Research in 1984.)  This species and (Hoya chunii) originates from Papua New Guinea.

There is a discussion ongoing whether Hoya chunii should be renamed to Hoya chuniana according to the

rules of nomenclature. Hoya chunii was named in honour of Karl Chun and because he was not the collector of this species some say it should be renamed. I have read through Article 60 in the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature and have not been able to find any paragraph stating that the name shall end with "ana" because the person the species is named for was not the collector of that same species. If anyone knows and can pinpoint that paragraph please let me know!
