Hoya imperalis is a fast grower and it soon becomes a large plant, so it needs a big support from the beginning. It is easy to grow as long as you water it regularly. It needs more nutrition than other hoyas. Also add some limestone in the pot.

I have my plant in a southern window with no shading and it seems to like it there. The leaves are big, medium green and slightly pubescent. The edges are wavy. The plant flowered for the first time when

it was 1˝ years old. The flowers are quite impressive, measuring over 7 cm. The colour can vary a lot from time to time, so it will be really exciting to see what colour it is the next time it flowers, if I keep it. I have two problems with this plant. First; it grows so fast it takes over the window completely if I do not cut it down regularly. Second; the scent of the flowers is so strong in the mornings that I am having an allergic reaction. Well, time will tell what I will do with it...

I suspect this one is Hoya imperialis var. rauschii
