easy to grow and flowers readily. It flowers all year and doesn't need much light, so it's no problem placing it in a northern window. It needs a lot of water. The peduncle flowers only a few times before dropping. The growth of Hoya javanica is shrubby and it seldom branches if you don't cut off the top. The leaves are moss green, slightly speckled and thin. The flowers are much paler than the ones on the more common Hoya multiflora in Sweden. The corolla is crystal white, but the tips are pale yellow coloured. Growing this hoya is very rewarding since the flowers last up to 4 weeks! The large clusters, of about 20 flowers, produce a lot of nectar so it can be a real mess to clean up. |
