Hoya leucorhoda (IML0518)

F. R. R. Schlechter

Published in Botanische Jahrbücher für Systematik, Pflanzengeschichte und Pflanzengeographie 50 119 (1913) by R. Schlechter. Hoya leucohoda originates from Papua New Guinea.

I've only had this one flower on my Hoya leucorhoda yet. It is lovely though so I'll keep waiting for it to get in bloom again. The plant reminds of Hoya paziae, but the leaves are somewhat more round and slightly larger. Hoya leucorhoda is a climber (which Hoya paziae isn't) and it is best grown supported by a trellis.

Hoya leucorhoda is a thin leaved hoya and it needs even access to water. Don't let it dry completely bewteen waterings. I grow my plant in a selfwatering pot. It's a fast grower and I often have to entangle it from its neighbours in the window.

Some say this species is Hoya schneei. I don't know if any of these names are correct correct so I'll keep the name it had when I got it until learn more.
