Hoya linearis

N. Wallich ex. D. Don

Published in Prodromus Florae Nepalensis 130 (1825) by Wallich ex. D. Don. Hoya linearis originates from the Himalayas.

Hoya linearis is a hanging hoya best suited for the hanging basket. The leaves are narrow and hairy. The stems grow upwards until their own weight make them hang down.

Unfortunately Hoya linearis is not the easiest hoya to grow. My experience is that it requires a lot of water. The trick is to keep it evenly moist at all times. Don't let it dry completely. I've had

to re-start my plant a few times when the roots have died. Now I have two plants, just in case. Since Hoya linearis originates from the Himalayas it is a cold growing species. Therfore I grow my plants in my garden room where night temperatures are a bit lower.

Hoya linearis
flowers mainly in autumn/winter.
