Published in Flora of British India 4 54 (1883) by J. D. Hooker. Hoya lobbii originates from India. Hoya lobbii is named after its collector, Thomas Lobb. Hoya lobbii (IML1524) is a clone with orange flowers. There are others with more red flowers. My experience of this hoya is that it is easy to grow and it flowers on a regular basis. My first cutting of Hoya lobbii flowered immediately after it was rooted. It doesn't need any special attention and it tolerates drought very well. I have |

my plant in the garden room where night temperatures are cooler. The problem I have with this plant is its shrubby growth. It is not practical trying to support it on a trellis and when grown in a hanging basket the stems grow horizontal which makes it require a lot of space. |
