Hoya lobbii (beige form)

J. D. Hooker

Published in Flora of British India 4 54 (1883) by J. D. Hooker. Hoya lobbii originates from India. Hoya lobbii is named after its collector, Thomas Lobb.

Hoya lobbii (beige form) is a clone with beige/pink flowers. The flowers are slightly bigger than the flowers of other Hoya lobbii I have in my collection.

Hoya lobbii is easy to grow and flowers readily. It does not need any special attention and it tolerates drought

very well. I have my plant in the garden room where night temperatures are cooler. The problem I have with this plant is its shrubby growth. It is not practical trying to support it on a trellis and when grown in a hanging basket the stems grow horizontal which makes it require a lot of space. The pollinarium, below to the right, measures 1.3 mm.
