This hoya is a hybrid between Hoya carnosa and Hoya serpens. It is widely known as Hoya 'Mathilde' (BE23), but it has not been formally published (or registered), so Hoya 'Mathilde' is not a valid name. It has been described in Fraterna no. 1, 2003 (Vol. 16).

This hoya is absolutely one of my favourites. It is quite easy to grow and it flowers readily. I grow mine in a hanging basket, but it would also do well on a trellis. Its requirements are pretty much the same as Hoya

serpens. Keep the soil evenly moist and grow it in a shaded place. I grow my Hoya 'Mathilde' in my garden room where it thrives.
