This variegated Hoya multiflora is as easy to grow as the plain green Hoya multiflora, but the leaves of this one is in my opinion much more attractive. As most variegated hoyas it grows a bit slower. Some say it is trickier to root, but I have had no problems with it. Usually I root cuttings of it in water. It flowers as often as the plain green Hoya multiflora but there are usually less flowers in the cluster. The buds and the flowers are striped, most easily seen on the buds. The buds start open at a very early stage, long before they are mature. I have no idea why it does |

that. This is a phenomenon I have not noticed on any of my other hoyas. The flowers produce a lot of nectar, which drips on my kitchen floor. So every once in a while I have to clean it up. The name is probably not correct on this hoya, but I will keep the name it had when I bought it. Research is ongoing and it is no use changing the name before it is correctly identified. |
