Hoya pallilimba (IML1215)

D. Kleijn & R. van Donkelaar

Published in Blumea 46(3) 479 (2001) by David Kleijn and Ruurd van Donkelaar. It was collected by the authors near Ranu River, Morowali Reserve, Sulawesi. The name means pale edge.

Hoya pallilimba is a small species. It can be grown either hanging or climbing, supported on a trellis. I grow mine hanging in my garden room. It took a few years before it got in bloom for the first time, but since it once has started it seems to bloom quite often.

The flowers are caramel scented and the colour is light pink. The edges of the corolla lobes are almost white. Hoya pallilimba is easy to grow. It tolerates drought and can be grown in a rather sunny position without getting burned.
