Hoya siariae

Published in Fraterna 15(3):1 (2002) by R. D. Kloppenburg. Hoya siariae originates from the Philippines. It was collected by Reynold Pimentel in Tayabas, Quezon, Philippines. It is named in honour of Simeona Siar.

Hoya siariae isn't the fastest grower for me. I've had it for a few years but still it's a rather small plant. It's a weak climber so it needs some help around the trellis if grown supprted by one. I guess it can be grown hanging with good results as well. Some say the flowers are pink, but I think they are more apricot. It might be a result of growing

it in flourescent light. The leaves are trinerved, medium green and glabrous. They remind very much of Hoya benguetensis and Hoya blashernaezii.
