Hoya sp. Estrella Waterfalls (DMC5459) |
|
|
|
This hoya was collected by David Cumming near Estrella
Waterfalls, Palawan, Philippines. I have bought mine as a cutting from
David Liddle in july 2006 and it was namned Hoya sp. Estrella
Waterfall DMC 5459, IML 1256. A year after I had bought it, it got in
bloom for
the first time. Already after another month it got in bloom for the second
time. It has rather big leaves (20 cm long, 4 cm wide) which are thick
and hard. They are dark green and have some silver flecks. |

In my experience this one is easy to grow. It tolerates drought and thrives in a crude glass window facing west. It flowers on a regular basis from early spring until autumn. The flowers are light green and the corolla lobes shift to darker green. The fresh scent fills the room in the evenings. It reminds me of ginger. |
