Hoya sp. Zambales, Philippines (PG04)

Hoya sp. Zambales, Philippines (PG04) was collected in the wild by Patrick Gozon. I bought my first cutting of this species from Nathalie Simonsson in 2007. It has grown to a rather big plant and it thrives in a shaded window facing south. It tolerates drought and is quite easy to grow. I think it is best grown in a hanging basket although it has some climbing abilities. The flowers and the foliage remind very much of Hoya kentiana except for the size; this one is smaller in all measures.

Plant
Leaves: medium green, canoe shaped, 4-5 cm long
Growth habit: hanging/climbing
Flowers
No. in a cluster: ~15
Size: 11 mm (measured flat)
Colour:  pink corolla and corona, yellow outer corona lobes
Form: revolute
Scent: like caramel
Nectar: not visible

This is definitely a hoya to have! Since it is so small it can fit in any collection.

The pollinarium to the left measures 0.55 mm.
